To configure the Self Service Portal for outbound email, the following information has to be entered in the General Setting email sections.

Mail Sender Name: Set the Name for all emails sent by SSP 7. This name will appear as the sender of messages coming from SSP 7. This is the only place where the senders's name can be set. It is also possible to set the sender's name individually per process.
Mail Sender Email: Set the Email address for all emails sent. SSP 7 will check if the entered address is of a valid format ( containing an '@' and a '.'). This is the only place where the senders's email address can be set. It is also possible to set the sender's name individually per process.
SMTP Server Host:  Define the hostname or ip address of the outgoing mail server. This mail server should support SMTP protocol. Check with the IT department for these settings if unknown. Also make sure that SSP 7 is allowed to send SMTP emails to the mail server.
SMTP Server port number: The port number your SMTP server is listening on
SMTP Server Enable SSL: Use SSL encryption to communicate with server
SMTP Server domain: Domain name of the user to logon to the mail user
SMTP Server username: Username to logon to the SMTP server
SMTP Server password: Password of the user to logon to the SMTP server
Send using International Delivery Format: You'll need to have a specific dll in order for this to work. Please ask SMTX support for this. Leave to no if you are unsure about this. When "Send immediately" is enabled you need to put that dll also in the web bin folders.
Send all e-mails only to (for testing purpose): This option allows you to have a single email address where all outgoing emails will be sent to. This setting overrules all actor settings in processes (although the defined actor is shown, they don't receive an email message).
Use internal messaging system: SSP supports an internal messaging system to replace email messages. Users will see messages on the SSP dashboard instead of receiving email messages.
Send immediately: When enabled, SSP sends emails immediately. When disabled, emails are first stored in a queue and only sent when the task "Send E-Mails" runs.
