Oracle Client

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The Oracle ODP.Net client version is important. The know the version, search for a file named Oracle.DataAccess.dll on the server (not on the SSP7 installation media), and retrieve its version via the properties. If the value is different from "2.111.7.20" an extra update needs to be done in the root “web.config” files. Search the following:

<dependentAssembly>

 <assemblyIdentity name="Oracle.DataAccess" publicKeyToken="89b483f429c47342"/>

     <bindingRedirect oldVersion="2.111.6.0" newVersion="2.111.7.20"/>

</dependentAssembly>

And update the contents of the newVersion attribute (DO NOT update the oldVersion attribute) it should correspond to the version number of your Oracle.DataAccess.dll.

If you have ODP.net installed you can find your version number in the GAC.

SQL Server: When installing on sql server, and no ODP.net is installed. You will need to copy the oracle.dataaccess.dll to all bin folders of workflow, forms, common and sendemails. This dll is an add-on to the installation package. In case the Oracle DLL doesn't exist, an error message will be displayed.
