Shops : Product Details

When Editing or adding a Product, the first tab is Product Details. On this tab, the Product is defined with descriptions, an image, reference codes, etc. Pricing is not done on this tab, but on the next tab, Product Pricing.

alert_1818 When adding a new Product, only this tab is shown. Once the product is saved, the other tabs become available. The same logic goes for the image upload.

Section 1 : General Settings

The following options are available:

Live : check this box to make the Product visible on the Shop
Internal Reference : free text field, is sent over to the Workflow Engine.
Vendor Reference : free text field, is sent over to the Workflow Engine.
Service : Select the appropriate service from the drop down. If the service that you want is not in the list, please check the General Settings of your shop, in particular the tab Service / Vendors
Category : select the appropriate Product Category from the drop down. If the Product Category that you want is not in the list, please check the General Settings of your shop, in particular the tab Product Categories
Device Type : this selection has 3 options : Main Product, Accessory or Option. Main Product : This product is shown in the overview within the category
Accessory : This product can be shown only as an accessory, linked with a Main product. It is also listed within the category `Accessories` and can thus be bought separately, so without the need to order a Main Product at the same time. Option : This product can only be bought together with a Main Product.
Accessory Category : This drop downs allows to select the Product Category when the product is offered as an accessory, in an Order Type that only contains accessories. Select the appropriate Product Category from the drop down. If the Product Category that you want is not in the list, please check the General Settings of your shop, in particular the tab Product Categories
SSP Process: The drop down shows all processes that are built in SSP. Select the process you want to start when a request is placed, containing this Product. You can link only 1 process per Product. Please note that this is not required. An order is always placed within an Order Type, which is always linked to a Process.
Current Image & Upload New Image : Upload or replace the image for this product. Note : when adding a new Product, this field is not available. Please save the Product first, then the option will become available to upload an image. Images are not resized upon upload, we advise a size of maximum 200 by 200 pixels.

It is possible to add a form or a link as a product. To add a form as product, select the form from the "Link To Form" section

To add a website/link as product type in the URL under "Link to URL" These will show like this in the shop

Section 2 : Title & Description

Enter the title, description & short introduction text in each language, as defined in SSP.

Section 3 : Related Documents

The list of uploaded Documents is displayed by file type as designated by the icon and  the filename. These documents are shown to the users, in the popup window with the product details.

Use the Delete button delete  to remove the selected Document
Adding a New Document: Use the browse button to browse for a new Document. This button will open the standard Browse-window to locate the file in a local directory or on the network via mapped drives. When the file is selected from the popup window, the full path will appear in the text box. Use the upload button to upload and use this new Icon.  Browsing for the file will not succeed, it is required to click the upload button to transfer the file to the server and to be used on the Dashboard. The screen will refresh and the uploaded file will be added at the bottom of the list.

 

Section 4 : Related Links

The Related Links group contains the following options:

The list of Current Links is displayed, showing the Link and  the  Title. These links are shown to the users, in the popup window with the product details.
Use the Delete button delete  to remove the selected Link
Adding a New Link: Enter the complete link in the first box, including 'http://'. Insert the Title for this link into the second Box. Click on SAVE to add this new Link to the list. The screen will refresh and the added link will be added at the bottom of the list.

Use the SAVE button to save the changes and remain on this screen, or use the OK button to save your changes and return to the Overview screen, or use the CANCEL button to discard any changes.
